The Jefferson County Clean Sweep program provides the residents, farms, and small businesses of Jefferson County with opportunities to safely and legally dispose of unwanted pesticides, hazardous household products, and chemicals before they cause problems. Proper disposal of hazardous waste keeps us, our children, and the environment safe.

This program is funded through grant money from Wisconsin’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), host fees from the Deer Track Park Landfill, support from Jefferson County, and donations from individuals and businesses.

The Clean Sweep program collects, treats, stores, or disposes of waste in an environmentally safe method through a licensed hazardous waste facility. Hazardous waste can usually be identified by products that contain any of the following words: caution, warning, danger, poison, toxic, ignitable or flammable, acid, corrosive, or reactive.
